01:03 am - 80s movies
Hey everyone

I'm from Belgium and was born in May 1983.

So I've been watching alot of 80s movies lately. Most of them I saw when I was very little, but seeing them again makes me realize how brilliant those films were...

Anyway, anyone have any recommendations for good 80s movies? The ones I already watched again are: The breakfast club, 16 candles, The Goonies, Fast times at Ridgemont High, St Elmo's fire

Let me know

Hey, Children of 1983, I hope you're all enjoying this year as it is the Chinese Astrological year that most of us were born in ...the Pig! (Although, specifically we're Water Pigs and this year is a different Chinese element).

Only happens every 12 years, so enjoy it while it lasts! (And for the minority here of January Birthdays, I hope you enjoyed the year of the Dog last year and beginning of this year).

Here's a question...

What are your favourite albums that came out in 1983?

Mine include:
* David Bowie Let's Dance
* The Cure Japanese Whispers (technically a compilation album)
* Depeche Mode Construction Time Again
* Ministry With Sympathy (I don't own it, but's I love it!)

& I plan on buying some more this year.
What about you?

Hello fellow 1983 babies! I am working on my Master's Thesis hoping to get my Master's Degree in the coming August. I need data for my research, please help me out!

If you are in the United States (because International Text messages cost me money to receive, whereas US originated messaged do not) and have an unlimited text messaging plan, please consider helping me out with my Master's Thesis research.

I am doing research on text prediction. It is extremely annoying to most people how bad the T9 prediction is on phones. I am trying to fix it.

The concept is simple. If I tell you "I'm thinking of a word that begins with c" - it is very difficult for you to guess which word I am typing. This is like T9. My method takes into account the words that have already been written. For instance, if I type "I need to make a collect c" you can easily guess that the c word I am starting to type is "call". You know this as a human, but how would a computer know?

To train the computer, I need thousands and thousands of text messages on which I can "teach" the computer how people talk in text messages.

The concept is simple, go to this site and sign up to take part in the experiment. A cell phone number will be emailed to you. Each time you send someone a text message, send it to this number right after so that I can gather data.

It is completely 100% anonymous - I have no way to know that it was you who sent any particular message. Check out the site for more details relating to your privacy concerns.

Thanks a billion!

02:33 pm - Hey!
My name is Alex. I'm from Kiev, Ukraine and, as you already have guess, I was born in 1983, august 16. Work as designer in magazine. Return from army last year. Studying "international economy" at the univerity. And.. I like oldschool punk/hardcore/emo music mostly - BlackFlag, Rites Of Spring, Fugazi, Portrait etc.. Some indie-rock bands. Reading books, favorite are Anthony Burgges' "Clockwork Orange". Films by Takeshi Kitano, Tarantino, Guy Ritchie. In the same way interesting in: journalistic, art & design, old computer games...many others..

So, if you have the same interests, ready to excuse me my English :) and want to talk - you are welcome :)
